These courses serve as the starting point for your foundation to defensive shotgun, handgun, or carbine (AR15) Style use.

Introduction to Defensive Handguns

Are you new to firearm ownership? Do you own a handgun for self-defense but don’t feel comfortable or confident with it?

This class is the starting point and will set the foundation for your handgun education.

Our curriculum is designed for those who are new to firearms and want to be more comfortable and competent with a defensive handgun. The main goal of this one-day course is to understand the safe handling, operation, and maintenance of a handgun, with an emphasis on safety. You do not need to own a firearm to attend this course – we have rental guns and rental gear available for you.

Prerequisites to attend this Class: None

Course outline:
  • Understand and commit to all firearm safety rules and range commands
  • Understand pistol nomenclature and recommended upgrades

  • Select the right gear – competition verses everyday carry (what is and what isn’t a defensive handgun)

  • Safely load and unload your handgun
  • Basic fundamentals of pistol marksmanship
  • Proper draw stroke
  • Common types of reloading methods
  • Common malfunction clearing drills
  • Shooting drills to improve speed and accuracy

Introduction to Defensive Shotguns

This course will serve as the starting point for your foundation to defensive shotgun use. It is designed for those who are new to the shotgun platform as it pertains to self-defense. You will be instructed on the dynamics of shotgun handling, weapon operation, and basic home defensive tactics.

Whether you own a pump action or a semi-auto shotgun, we believe that we can help you improve your skills and give you a basic understanding of home defense.

  • Combat mindset
  • Shotgun nomenclature
  • Safe loading and unloading
  • Shooting positions and the fundamentals of each
  • Post test
  • Common methods of reloading the shotgun platform
  • Common malfunction and clearing drills
  • Shooting drills to improve speed and accuracy
  • Shotgun handling, including: stance, grip, breathing, trigger control, working the action, combat sights vs. bead sights, multiple targets, various reloading options, bi-lateral shooting, shooting on the move, malfunction drills, slings, basic home defense drills.

Introduction to Defensive Carbine (AR15) Style Rifle

This class will serve as a starting point for your foundation to defensive rifle use. Our curriculum is designed for those who are new to the Carbine rifle platform (AR15). The main goal of this one-day course is to master the basics and to safely operate and maintain a carbine rifle for self-defense.

Prerequisites to attend this course: None

Course outline:
  • Understand and commit to all firearm safety rules and range commands
  • Basic rifle nomenclature and recommended upgrades (what is a defensive carbine)
  • How to zero your rifle
  • Select the right gear
  • Barrel Sight Relationship (BSR)
  • Safely load and unload and unloading
  • Shooting positions and the fundamentals of each
  • Common types of magazine reloads
  • Common malfunction clearing drills
  • Shooting drills to improve speed and accuracy
